Ready for a little fun in the sand?Greetings sand lovers, and US Military ... and those who just may be vacationing in Iraq. X-Dog Events is pleased to be working with Camp Victory and the C/ 1-82 Brigade. Special thanks to First Sergeant Gavin McIlvenna. For more information, contact: 1st Sergeant Gavin McIlvenna via e-mail. Registration is avaiable here. Watch the website for updates. You can submit your registration via e-mail. Registration is currently closed, as the limit has been reached. Gavin and some of his crew have been working on an epic route that is sure to provide a little distraction from your everyday stresses... or if nothing else get a little more sand in your skivvies. For those of you familiar with the area... here is an inspiring invitation: Tired of running around Z Lake? Can’t get out of bed for another 5K run? Good…stay in bed and let the adventurous runners (see definition in the dictionary under CRAZY) race for some cool bennies! This isn’t some cutesy jaunt around the Palace, or some long painful marathon. You will be guaranteed to get dirty, muddy, bloody, twist an ankle, stub a toe…and if not careful take a dip in a lake……so wear that snazzy running outfit you bought before deployment. Distance? Well…..how far can you run? If you must know it maybe 3-6 miles or kilometers or inches…who really knows for sure? Like to run with music? You might want to leave that in the CHU because you will never get into a good pace. Because it is a requirement, Aid Stations and Water will be located along the route. We will time you, give you awards (and the Best Bloody Stump Awards goes to….) and heck, maybe even throw in a few beers (yes…near beer…but it still is beer)-- all you have to do is finish! We will not give away too much information about the course; surprise is part of the event. The XDog is so excited to support the military he offered to come on over and set the course up himself! But after hearing that flash bangs and camels don’t usually go well together, he broke open the wallet and is sending each pre-registered runner a goodie pack and a T-Shirt….NOW do I have your attention? The race is limited to 300 runners, so first to register….first to get goodies! If you enjoy an eye watering, sweat dripping, and snot flying challenge that you won’t find on a 10K -- then…risk the skinned knee, scraped elbow, and damaged ego and participate. There is also some fun for the pansy asses:Sunbathing Bring a towel. |
