The Events -
This year we are adding a 15-Mile Trail Run that will be an incredible adventure. The course is tough and aid is limited. The other events, the duathlon and the 5-mile will continue to develop their reputations as the most fun and filthiest events you will endure. Nine years ago these events set the pace for “adventure” events. They continue to mess participants up.
Off Road Duathlon:
The Off Road Duathlon consists of a 5-mile trail run followed by a 15-mile mountain bike. The run is primarily on nasty trails, and the bike is on 65% single track trails and 35% logging roads or similar. The courses kick ass. The courses will experience dirt, mud, rocks, water, water, mud, water, and stream crossings. The event is a worthy challenge that will certailny purge some endorphines.
5-Mile Trail Run:
The 5-mile trail run will be 85% on trail or similar. There are several water crossings and normally there is a lot of mud. This will be the most adventurous trail run you will experience.
Post Event Celebration:
Following the event there will be a hosted BBQ with burgers and beer. There will also be music, random prize drawings, and usually some unexpected spontaneous festivities. Burgers and beverages will be FREE to all participants and volunteers. Others may by a beverage and burger coupon for $7.00.
Awards will be given to top overall and age group winners. We will also have some special awards to be given out (MOP, DFL, Matt Hastie, etc.)
Special Commerative Pint Glasses will be available in 2005.
There will be camping available at the START/FINISH of the event. There is a small fee throught the Flying M Ranch. The Ranch also has cabins and rooms available for rent at reasonable rates.
