X-DOG NEWS

 X-Dog to GO WIRELESS!

After losing nearly all computer equipment in a car accident, X-Dog is returning with some new improvements.  Events will feature FREE wireless connection via satellite at all events.  The system is set to be installed for the Northern Oregon XC Series.

 New Website Updates and Photos

After replacing computer equipment, a new website schedule has been set. Event results will be posted within 24 hours of each event, and more photos will be uploaded to the galleries.  New technology and equipment will give us high-speed access from all events.  YES -- even the mountain gigs.
The website will receive bi-weekly updates, ensuring the latest and greatest in information and event re-caps. Be sure to sign up for the e-mail list for additional non-published news and announcement.  E-mail news sent every two weeks.

 Cross Country Teams Being Formed

The 2005 Cross Country season is about to commence.  If you would like to get on an X-Dog Team, contact kevin@xdogevents.com. X-Dog will host a number of different teams -- including: Mens Open, Womens Open, Mixed Open, and Mens Masters.  All levels of ability welcome to join.  Team perks, and camaraderie will be in abundance.

X-Dog to host new Adventure Challenge - The Oregon X

X-Dog will be presenting the “Oregon X” in 2005. The date and details are being finalized, but will likely take place in late August or September. The event will be the cornerstone of The X Races.  Information is available at www.thexraces.com.  These events will re-define adventure.

 NEW SCRAMBLES!!!

Are you ready for this!  X-Dog is launching two new scrambles in 2005! The White Pass Scramble and the Snoqualmie Pass Scramble.  The time has arrived to grow the adventures created with the Mt. Hood and McCubbin’s Gulch Scrambles.  These events will throw a few ne twists into the pain, suffering, and pure pleasures known as Scrambles.  Put these on your calendar!

 Astoria Assault adds 6-Hour Event

The Astoria Assault has added a six hour event this year.  The six-hour version will feature Kayaking, mountain biking, road biking, and running/trekking -- as well as some great obstacles and challenges.  More information is available.
After the event participants will be treated to an epic feast with salmon and crabs!  Plenty of cold beverages will also be available.  Timberland will also be on hand giving away shoes and other goodies.
Special thanks to the Peitsch Family for allowing us to use their land for this incredible adventure.
If you would like to volunteer, please contact kevin@xdogevents.com for more information. All volunteers will receive an event t-shirt and get to enjoy the seafood feast following the event. Extra tickets to the post event feed may be purchased for $6.00.

 Event Camping a big HIT!

Most of the X-Dog summer events feature “unofficial” camping before and after the events.  The soirees let participnats get together X-Dog style and sniff each other out.  Great fun and camaraderie are guaranteed. Previous camping activities have included limbo contests, skinny dipping, naked runs, campfire feasts, live music, and other similar activites.
McCubbin’s Gulch usually yields 60-120 pre-event campers.  The camping is at the event start/finish.  There is no charge at McCubbins Gulch, but Forest passes are required.
The Super X also enjoys incredible camping opportunities. There is a small fee to camp at the ranch, but it is a bargain. Camping is at the event start/finish and right on the river.
