MORE THAN 7 FEET of SNOW in SIX DAYS, FROG LAKE MADE FOR SHORT LEGS
Nearly 100 competitors battled snow that was near waist deep.
The times were slower than normal, but the conditions were some of the toughest ever. Snowshoers battled snow that was at times waist deep. More than seven feet of snow had fell the previous six days inluding 30" the two days prior.
Richard Bolt and Myra Klettke repeated their overall victories from White River. The two were also returning champions from 2007. Klettke has won four straight Frog Lake events, and has clearly separated herself as the top female snowshoer in the Northwest. She has claimed eight overall victories in ten attempts over the last five years. Both Klettke and Bolt will represent the Northwest in Ogden, Utah at Snowshoe Nationals.
Jaysun Pyatt brought back his Columbia River High runners to dominate the rest of the competition. His crew also boasted the first three competitors to be wearing shorts in the 24 degree and snowing conditions.
